Rodrigo Samia is a Brazil-based Director of Photography | Cinematographer working on feature, short films, documentaries, commercial/contents and music videos.
Graduated in Cinema and Video at FAP (Faculdade de Artes do Paraná), Samia directed films like GOOD NIGHT, GOOD DREAMS, screened at the 13th International Super 8 Film Festival in Curitiba, THE SKY IS THE LIMIT and documentary DORIGO BROTHERS.
As cinematographer, worked in the production of the International documentary GENERATION VAX, by American director Mitchell Farkas, for Chinese TV – in addition Rodrigo also worked on feature films like 200 MINUTES (OF SOMETHING I DIDN’T FEEL), received HONORABLE MENTION – BEST FEATURE FILM at the California International Film Festival and worked on short films including IF THEY WERE THE SEA, by Cibele Appes – BEST SHORT FILM at five Brazilian Festivals as well as being OFFICIAL SELECTION at Busan Festival (South Korea) and Mostra de Cinema de Tiradentes (BR), MACBETH XXI, OFFICIAL SELECTION at Shakespeare Lives Festival (2016) – UK and CHICO CAME BACK ALONE, available on the GLOBO PLAY Streaming Plataform.
Director of photography Rodrigo Samia also worked on projects like REFLECTIONS (Season I, II), a talk show, music videos, commercial/contents, as well as special projects like AGING (Dance Film) and CAGE (Video Art), in which Samia was the photographic advisor of the project – exhibited at the Oscar Niemeyer Museum.
